It looks like wedding bells may be in pop star Usher’s future.
The singer and his longtime girlfriend, Jennifer Goicoechea, obtained a marriage license in Las Vegas last week, according to Clark County court documents obtained by The Hollywood Reporter.
The big news for the couple broke Sunday as Super Bowl LVIII got under way at Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium, where Usher was in the final hours before he was set to perform during the halftime show. There, he was joined onstage by special guests including Alicia Keys, H.E.R., will.i.am, Jermaine Dupri, Ludacris and Lil Jon.

The Nevada court records show that on Thursday, the couple received a certificate of marriage, but has yet to file a marriage license. So, while the first step in their nuptials has been taken, the couple is not yet married.
Aside from this major step in his personal life, it was a busy week for the singer, songwriter and dancer. In addition to mounting his widely praised halftime show, Usher dropped his ninth studio album, Coming Home, on Friday and announced he is extending his Past Present Future Tour. His My Way Las Vegas residency ended in December after 100 performances.
Usher and Goicoechea are parents to daughter Sovereign Bo, who is 3, and son Sire Castrello, 2. They have been together since 2018.
This would mark Usher’s second marriage, as he was previously wed to fashion designer Tameka Foster, with whom he shares sons Usher “Cinco” Raymond V, 16, and Navid Ely, 15.
On Sunday, reigning Super Bowl champs the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in the big game.
