Oppenheimer is now streaming on Peacock as of today — giving movie lovers plenty of time to watch the three-hour blockbuster that won five Golden Globe awards and has now earned 13 Oscar nods, including for best picture, best actor for Cillian Murphy, best supporting actor for Robert Downey Jr. and best supporting actress for Emily Blunt. It is also up for 13 BAFTA Awards from the British Academy.
After raking in over $950 million worldwide (thanks in part to the Barbenheimer sensation of the summer, with millions of people watching both Barbie and Oppenheimer in theaters), the film is already available to buy or rent online for streaming at Amazon’s Prime Video, Apple TV and other video-on-demand platforms.

Where to Stream Oppenheimer Online
Starting today, Universal Pictures’ Oppenheimer is available to stream on NBCUniversal-owned Peacock. The streamer also offers a 24-minute behind-the-scenes look at the film called Inside Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer.

Oppenheimer is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning biography American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin. From his early childhood to his national security clearance being revoked due to his alleged communist ties, the book is split into five parts focusing on different stages of Oppenheimer’s life.
It’s available at Amazon as a hardcover book for $45 (was $50), in paperback for $15 (was $25), as a Kindle e-book for $15 and as an Audible audiobook for $27 (was $30).

Oppenheimer: Synopsis, Award Wins and Nominations
Directed by Christopher Nolan and based on the biography American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin, the film tells the story of J. Robert Oppenheimer (played by Cillian Murphy), an American scientist developing the atomic bomb for the U.S. government at the height of World War II during the early 1940s.
The movie also intertwines the story of United States Atomic Energy Commission chairman Lewis Strauss (played by Robert Downey Jr.) secretly orchestrating a private hearing to strip the scientist of his national security clearance nearly a decade after the U.S. military dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan, to end the war. Oppenheimer also stars Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Florence Pugh, Josh Hartnett, Casey Affleck, Rami Malek, Kenneth Branagh, Benny Safdie and others.
Oppenheimer has been nominated for 13 Oscars, including for best picture, best directing, best lead actor (Murphy), best supporting actor (Downey Jr.), best supporting actress (Blunt), best writing for adapted screenplay (Nolan), best cinematography (Hoyte van Hoytema), best costume design (Ellen Mirojnick), best makeup and hairstyling (Luisa Abel), best original score (Ludwig Göransson), best production design, best film editing and best sound.
